Phase 1: Discovery call with Design Director, Cate

This phase includes stages 1-3 of the design process and allows Catherine de Meur Interiors the opportunity to learn about you and your needs.

Stage 1: Initial Consultation

  • Sharing with you How We Work

  • Obtaining a detailed brief

  • Composing a thorough Scope of Work

  • Creating a proposal and fee estimate

  • MEETING: Talking through the Scope of Works document and Fee estimate with you

Stage 2: Briefing, Concept & Budget

  • Compiling & Presenting Initial Concepts

  • Analysing and documenting the site/existing conditions

  • Reviewing the budget and timeframe

  • Building a Concept Presentation

  • MEETING: Present Concept Presentation, preliminary budget to you for feedback

Stage 3: Team Introductions

  • Discussing concept plans with the architect and/or builder

  • Creating and presenting the Design Program - timeline.

  • MEETING: Project Schedule is presented to you for review

Phase 2: Design

This phase is where Catherine de Meur Interiors takes initial concepts and ideas and constructs the designs and documentation. By the end of this phase, you have everything required for construction to begin; including accurate costings.

Stage 4: Design Development & Preliminary Estimation

  • Designs are revised based on feedback from the Concept Presentation

  • Finalising material and specifications

  • Finalise fittings & fixtures specification

  • Updating Budget & Timeframe

  • Supplier visits with you to Winnings, bathroom supplier and Blum to finalise the design and Fitting & Fixture selections

  • MEETING: Present Design Documentation to you for feedback

Stage 5: Documentation Package

  • Convert schematic documentation to a Tender document

  • Create detailed drawings adding materiality and dimensioning

  • Update any 3D models

  • MEETING: Present Tender documentation to you for feedback

  • Sign off from you on Tender Package

Stage 6: Tender & Estimation

  • Obtaining and reviewing tenders

  • Finalising costs

  • Amend project Estimate based on quotes received

  • MEETING: Present Project Estimate and Tender review to you for feedback

  • Sign off from you on Project Estimate, timeline and budget.

Phase 3: Implementation

Once contracts have been signed between you and your contractor, construction begins. Catherine de Meur Interiors then moves to a design management role; overseeing trades to make sure the designs come to life as intended.

Stage 7: Design Management

  • Facilitating the formal engagement of external parties

  • Updating timelines

  • Following up orders and invoices

  • Managing construction with the builder and manufacture of cabinetry and other items

  • Scheduling Deliveries

  • MEETING: Weekly or fortnightly during construction

Stage 8: Client Handover Quality Control

  • Managing faults and discrepancies

  • Handover
